Classroom Rules

To maintain a professional relationship, teachers should be addressed with respect, i.e. Miss Jesse , Master Tarek, ect.

No gum, food or drinks except water are permitted in the studios.

To avoid disruptions, no excessive conversations should take place during class.

Be respectful of yourself and others. Foul language or offensive comments will not be tolerated.

Rise Center staff reserve the right to ask a student to take a few minutes of personal time outside the classroom if he/she is not actively participating, showing respect for teachers or having difficulties with focus.  Our job is to make sure each and every student gets the most out of their classes.  Proper behavior is necessary for the enjoyment and the continued progression of training for all students.

If a student is more than 15 minutes late to class, they may be asked to sit and observe the remaining class time, as missing essential warmup can cause injury.  This decision is left up to the discretion of each teacher.

Parent observation

In the best interest of the students, there will be designated parent observation days that will be scheduled for two times during the year in December and March. All other times class studio observation will be closed to ensure that your children are getting the best out of their instruction without distraction.

To avoid distractions, parents are not permitted to enter ongoing classes or peek through the door. This can be very distracting to dancers and athletes. To prevent distractions, doors will otherwise be closed.

Observation is permitted from the waiting room CCTV or in-studio during Observation Week.

Student Arrival and Pickup

Students must wear a cover-up over dance attire when traveling to and from Rise Center to observe and be respectful of UAE customs and traditions.

Students are expected to be ready for their lessons by arriving early, dressed and ready.

Younger students are not permitted to leave the building without a parent or guardian.

Children should be picked-up promptly after their classes. If there is an emergency, contact the front desk at 058-588-7473. If your child must wait for you, please let the receptionist know and provide your child with an activity and/or snack to ease your child’s anxiety.

Rise Center is not responsible for students after their scheduled class time.

Meetings and Concerns

Conferences can be scheduled by appointment only with both the teachers and the Directors. Please call Rise Center at 058-588-7473 for a private appointment. All other classes, students with longer hair should ensure that it is tied off the face to limit distraction.

Attendance

Weekly attendance in class is very important for a students development. Each class is based on proper technique and works on building these principles each week.

Students should strive for perfect attendance year-round.  For students to participate in any performances, competitions or examinations they must attend regularly.

Please notify the studio as soon as possible if a student will be absent from a lesson.

Dancers and athletes excessively absent from class within the 60 days prior to a show or competition may be removed from the show or competition at the directors discretion.

The studio schedule is subject to change without notice.

Make-Up Classes

Should a student miss a class due to illness or injury make up classes are available for most classes.

Make up classes are offered as a courtesy and will not be guaranteed by Rise Center for Dance and Taekwondo.  The student has 30 days from the date of the absence to request a reservation for a make up class.

A Make-Up-Class-Pass will be issued from reception and then turned into the teacher at the time of the class.
